03 February 2005 The Young & The Restless This February/March sees three Melbourne bands from In-Fidelity Records packing the van and taking their songs up and down the East Coast on what has been dubbed "The Young & The Restless Tour". The Specimens, The Cants and Kamikaze Trio have been sharing stages in Melbourne for the last two years, and after recently finding themselves label mates, have decided to hit the road to promote their respective albums. Sounds like a rosy story, hey? Well guess again... Rumour has it that temptation and excess is rife throughout the In-Fidelity stabel. The word getting around at present is that hearts are being broken and lunches are being cut, with The Specimens, The Cants and Kamikaze Trio being the main culprits. It appears that these growing tensions came to a head at a recent photo shoot outside an inner-suburban milk bar, when a screaming match escalated to blows and many tears shortly after the camera was put away. Whispers abound suggest that label boss Bruce Milne is sending the boys out on the road in a last ditch attempt to sort out their differences. In recent press statements the bands insist that they wholly support, and remain avid fans, of each others music. They have even come together to record a "The Young & The Restless" tour EP to be sold at shows. So is there any truth to these rumours? Will they make it through the tour without confrontation? I guess you'll have to wait and see when the next episode of The Young & The Restless comes to a venue near you.
