02 August 2008 Tas Blizzard - in memory Tasman Blizzard, guitarist for the Meanies and Seaweed Goorillas, died in a car accident near his home in Geelong on Friday afternoon. Tas was one of the sweetest guys in the world. He's going to be greatly missed by many, many people. He called into the office here last week to discuss his latest venture. He's been a family counsellor for a long time and was planning to apply the same theories and work with bands (who are the most disfunctional families of all). It sounded very exciting and he was full of enthusiasm and ideas. Here's a great pic that Richie Ramone took of Tas back in '91. Apart from him not having a goofy grin, it perfectly captures the carefree, barefooted guitarist (though Tas probably thought of himself as a surfer first and foremost!) that we'll remember with love and affection.
